Meet the author — Joep van Lieshout

This walk has been put together by artist Joep van Lieshout. His art can be found all over the world: from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam to MOMA in New York. In the 1990s, he founded his company Atelier van Lieshout. Today, Joep works at a large studio called Brutus, located in the old harbour area of Rotterdam. That is where he has enough space to create large pieces of experimental art. ''I think it’s a good thing that art causes some confusion”

With Joep, you explore a diverse collection ranging from decorative art to autonomous, experimental sculptures, and from war memorials to works that offer lighthearted commentary on our society.

From start to end

The route starts at the Tramhuis, located at Hermesplantsoen 3. After a 5 kilometre walk, the route ends right next to the Tramhuis again.
