You may not expect it, but there is a lot of art to see in Rotterdam, simply out in the street. You can find artworks throughout the city: on corners, walls and rooftops, in squares, parks and areas of greenery. Everywhere you go, there is something to discover. This walk has been put together by worldfamous Rotterdam artist Joep van Lieshout, who selected a series of artworks to show you. It’s only the tip of the iceberg, because you can find more than 500 artworks in public spaces in Rotterdam. That is more than you can find in any other city in the Netherlands.
With Joep, you explore a diverse collection ranging from decorative art to autonomous, experimental sculptures, and from war memorials to works that offer lighthearted commentary on our society.
