You may have seen it already, construction has started again at the Tramhuis! The contractor is currently working on the basement at Eendrachtsplein.
For decades, the Tramhuis stood at Eendrachtsplein and Westersingel, known as the final stop for night owls craving a late-night snack. The delicate building is in poor condition and in need of a thorough restoration.
To return the Tramhuis to its original state, it has to be completely dismantled. Right now, careful restoration work is underway at Smederij Van der Vegt.
The first Tramhuis walk already starts at Eendrachtsplein, right where the Tramhuis will soon be located. We expect the building to return to Eendrachtsplein after the summer, and hope to open the kiosk for city walks by the end of the year, ready to set you on your way.
